BBP,

I, like Helldoggie had seen this before.  It is a great story with a happy ending for the lion.  He was returned to nature where he belonged and went on to father more lions...love happy endings.

I coolest big cat story is about me and a tiger.  As anyone who knows me, I have been a catlover all my life.  My future husband lived in Spokane, WA until he returned to California.  I would go visit him and he took me to this animal rescue place, called Cat Tales, on the outskirt of Spokane.  The link for them is: http://www.cattales.org/

They provide homes for displaced "Big Cats" and one of the things you can do is feed a lion or tiger.  They are in a chainlink enclosure, and you are first instructed on how the feeding will go.  The trainer first goes to the chainlink and calls the tiger or lion over.  I chose a Tiger, as they are my favorite of the Big Cats.  Once the tiger, Allahabad (Prince Ali), comes over and sits down, I was instructed to slowly walk to the fence and kneel.  Then one by one, I was handed a chicken neck (which I had been instructed on how to hold and put through the fence so my fingers did not come in contact with Ali's mouth) and he took it, ever so gently and ate it.  This was repeated 9 times.  During that time I was looking into his beautiful eyes and could feel his warm breath.  I was mesmerized and lost in our one on one experience.  It was one of the greatest highlghlights of my life.  My future husband was taking pictures, and he said I glowed with pleasure and excitement.

My husband knows if we every return to Spokane, my trip won't be complete without visiting Cat Tales and of course having another one on one moment with Ali.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane BBP!

Hugs,
Nish

thanks for the story nish. that was cool. i have to tell you, because of the site i got this from, i thought when the lion was first reunited and he jumped up on that lady, that he was going to eat them alive. that would have been really funny. but this way is good too Laughing
