So, how is everyone doing in their lives now that their divorce is behind them? I have made quite a few new friends, but I just cannot seem to meet anyone who makes me feel even a zing of anticipation. Do you still feel a zing when you are 45? Or is that something I need to stop looking for? Do you settle, or move on with your life hoping that some day maybe you will meet someone who gives you that tingle, that little zing, that little burst of anticipation?

Or, have I unknowingly stopped myself from feeling it? How do you know??

zing is still there!

I think there are times that that part of your brain that makes you feel a zing as you call it goes dormant...sometimes when you're preoccupied with other matters and other times as a defense mechanism after a traumatic experience, divorce being one of them.

I think that each of us has to go at our own pace in these matters. What worked great for someone else won't necessarily work great for you. I've found that for me I seem to find that person that makes me feel a zing when I'm least expecting it. If I set out to find it I can't (probably because it means I'm exuding an air of desperation at those times). Bottom line is I think your best bet is to do the things you like to do and be yourself but at least put yourself in situations where there is a possibility of meeting someone.

Nothing's more attractive than a member of the opposite sex who comes across as fun, positive and comfortable in their own skin so to speak. That's the kind of person we all want to hang around with.

Okay, my goal for the next two weeks is to get out and about more, try some new things. I would really like to learn photography. Maybe I will see if I can find some classes. I think it would be fun. Of course, I'd have to get a camera! LOL! AND actually develop the pictures after I took them (that would be the hard part for me! LOL)

I do not go looking for guys, but you are right in that when I do meet them, it is usually when I am doing something else. I never try to impress them, I think that is just crazy. But I do need some new activities to enjoy. I will work on that!!!
